[Odesk] Very wonderful Buyer!

Im officially back in oDesk and also got myself verified recently. I didn’t now that even as a contractor, you also need to verify your identity. A bit worrisome at first but oDesk will always be special in my heart because it saved me a lot of money and time as well so the heck with the worry, I sent a scanned copy of my passport, utility bill and photo. After a few hours, I received a news that Im verified. So prompt! Anyway, good news afterwards, I became more hirable. I received invitations after applying to several job openings. Two at the same time. I guess becoming verified will show how serious I am in my freelancing career. Very good move for me!

First Buyer: Asking me to create a Powerpoint presentation of him (Hourly rate)

Second Buyer: Asking me to research several websites, list their twitter followers, tweets, and all other social media requirements. To be sent via spreadsheet. (Fixed Price)

Two of these I got last May 24. And now I am done with the tasks especially with the second buyer.

I just want to tell a story regarding my very wonderful second buyer, she is really famous in Youtube. She hid her name but I know that its her based from the sample spreadsheet that she gave. I'm so thrilled to work with her because I found out that I recently subscribed to her Youtube. Her videos are inspirational by the way. So excited to work with her. Even though the work is a bit tiring and repetitive, I still tried to do my best and today I finished the work.

By the way, she is also very understanding that I only work during PH time. She even says have a good rest during the night. How sweet of her!

Contract-Detail---oDesk1

So glad I found her! Just look at how very satisfied we are at each other. I really believe in destiny, yes even if its not in the romantic sense. I believe in work destiny! This employer an I are meant to be workmates lol!

Anyway she told me she loved the job and even if she doesn’t have any work to give me right now, she would love to contact me again in the future. She even asked for my permission to recommend me to her folks! (Of course, ATE! LOL)

That’s actually a 100% boost of morale over there because of this buyer. Thumbs up

Anyway, the second buyer has yet to respond to my work but even with this one, he liked my work saying these:

goodjob

Totally loving working at home. Rainbow

[Odesk] Buyer asking a lot of work with a bid of $5 only!

Well its been a while! Hello Odesk for me. And my come back title doesn’t sound like Im a happy kid lol.

History: Its been a year since I started working again with oDesk. I have sent some cover letters before but I wasn’t too serious at all thus ended up not replying to interested buyers. Everything has changed today!

So a few hours ago, I decided to do some ‘raket’ because I want some chachings again lol. I am totally unemployed again right now as SG has been quite hard with me this past few months….(cries about the long story)

Anyway, I was very lucky that three buyers responded immediately with my application. I was totally ecstatic when one hired me right on the spot. Ecstatic and afraid at the same time.

od

You see I only bid for $5 for fixed price but upon constant messaging, this buyer is asking a lot of things which is not totally acceptable for the agreed price of $5.

Imagine: Buyer is asking for number of specific tweets/ per day and per month. I need to categorize it as well if the tweets are RTs, @replies and original post! Imagine how grueling that is. Then I found out that there is no free app for me to generate that. Major bummer. And I need that within an hour?? KMN?! 5 dollars and an hour only?!

The ad is a bit vague but I still decided to apply cause I am into the challenge. I mean after all, we will still exchange messages before he can totally hire me right? Wrong. He hired me immediately!

Cause of that I am once again reunited with oDesk help ticket. (READ: Major suki ako niyan noon lol) Cause whenever I don’t feel right about the assignment, I just click the help ticket and ask for advise. Here’s what I found out:

I would suggest that you get in touch with your employer to get all details possible and then decide if you will continue or not….Whoever ends the contract is required to leave a feedback. If nothing is paid though feedback is given its not visible in public…Your feedback score wont be affected. (Hay salamat.)

By that, I decided not to continue anymore with the Buyer. I do not trust the conversation already (because he gives little instructions as well. He also doesn’t seem to be happy that I am hesitant. The contract hasn’t ended yet though. Im still thinking whether Ill give him the right to end it or I would just rather do it myself.

This buyer is a good catch, (has good feedback, and paid a lot already. Unfortunately we didn’t click) Nice. Sounds like we are in a relationship lol.

Now, Im off to the next buyer..

Quick Odesk Update

Too many things happened and along the way, my plans have changed.

An Update about my Hunk Mexicanovela Buyer?

K. After reporting him to oDesk, he suddenly communicated with me. Turns out that our royal hunkness went on a vacation or so because he was too exhausted (probably) to reply after a flight. Well, I still sound interested to work with him during our conversations. Unfortunately due to time difference, we cant seem to put our schedules in one. I have lost interest in him - I mean in the job lol and so I didn't take another effort to catch him on line.

Luckily I was fortunate to have another interview from an interesting buyer. The rate is low but the hours I can render per week is a big chunk.

It was all fast and the next think I know, the buyer hired me. The interview was great because my skills were tested and with less talk more of the “prove yourself'” in a systematic way. So I must say I have proven my worth in this job.

Inner Oprah talking again…

Sometimes you get really excited to work on a new project. You feel so overwhelmingly blessed and you start to become inspired to work immediately. When you have learned the ins and outs of it, your esteem becomes so low. You doubt your skills. From 100% confident to a whooping 200% insecure. What’s up with these unnecessary bubble thoughts in one’s head? If we don't deal with it immediately, those little devils will control us and we become frail and quit – which should not be part of our options. Getting an oDesk assignment is very rare at this moment so we should not let go of the opportunity.

There! Exactly a dilemma I’m in right now haha.

x

Why do we want to work at oDesk? It’s another way for us to save am I right? If you are the same as I am, to save is my biggest motivation in working online. I computed the earnings I can get. And…that’s my fuel to keep me going. I accepted another assignment, therefore I will work hard so that I can gain the trust of my buyer. Never give up! even if I have to juggle my errands online and offline.

Odesk update

75939841 Hi! :)

See that? I am smiling. It’s not a joke. :)

Well. Today is supposed to be the end of my assignment right? Fortunately or unfortunately, I am not yet receiving a “assignment ended” mail yet. I wonder why. I’ll email my buyer later and ask what’s next thing for me to do.

Overall, I’ve moved on and accepted our parting ways hehe.

The past two weeks, I’ve been blessed to receive several oDesk interviews. Both invited and a reply to my job applications. Yay! Great! take note that I am still meticulous and dont take any jobs that i find uninteresting.

Some of them, didnt reply after one mail. I guess they have chosen other providers but two days ago, another buyer suddenly invited me for a SEO article writing stuffs.

Great. I almost didnt reply. And thank God I did because today, I have talked to him over Skype and he is the perfect buyer that I have been looking for! too perfect that I am quite distracted ahahaha.

Aside from the fact that professionally speaking, he is nice. You see, this buyer is soo distractingly beautiful. LOL. He showed me his website so that I could have good idea about him. I noticed his Flickr account and woow. Really he is wow. He looks like he was taken out from a Mexicanovela. HAHAH.

90600990Anyway enough of the fangirlism. One thing I also like about this buyer is that he never asked me for a lower rate. WHAAAAAT. Yes. He didnt question. The only setback is….omg. I am not familiar with the topic that he wanted me to write about. It’s about constructions, stones…bleh. I will try. Does it follow that he looks like a Greek god and he works in a construction business? He is too good to be true.

Im reading his sample articles and so far because of my excitement, I can’t seem to start. ahahah. I really should calm my hormones.

[Homebased Job] Good Odesk Buyers

Hello I’m back once again blogging about my Odesk experience. Well two days ago, I said, I will apply for my Unionbank EON card and to have my hair rebonded. I didnt pursue any yay. An old buyer contacted me the night after I posted that entry. So I have no choice but to cancel my plans. I know that this Buyer is strict when it comes to deadlines. The deadline was this afternoon, 12pm.

Again, its about editing audio stuffs. Segue: I am really thinking of buying a netbook so that I can do any homebased job anywhere and I can hang out with friends at the same time. I want to use my oDesk savings.---yes I have saved enough. Homebased job rocks!!!

I think I am already an expert when it comes to editing. I can do 600 audio in 14 hours. Woot. in short 43 audio in 1 hour and these are all cutting, adding additional audio’s, making it shorter at the same time. It’s quite a workload and my right hand mostly do the work so after 8 hours, my right thumb is getting numb and shaky. But all for the sake of this buyer, I am going to do my best and follow the deadline.

And it paid off.

odesk2

Lol its quite cute. I am so happy I received this. Then after a few minutes I have received my payment plus a surprise.

odesk

WOOOW. I am really jumpy when I received this and I can’t thank him enough for it. Don't worry, I kept myself calm when I replied back ahahaha. For my one and a half day work, I was paid almost a price of a rebonded hair. LOL I am so happy!

Yeah, he said, he has one more project for me. I really love this buyer of mine (not in a romantic way lol)

I also want to share another loved buyer of mine. Surprisingly, the above buyer and this one has the same name. But different spelling though. Haha I love this one even though he doesnt have projects for me recently. Why? Because he uses smiley in his emails haha.

odesk3

It really pays when you are honest with your buyer and if you do not just work with them for the sake of money. I have all the opportunity to stay long for an hourly job with this buyer. I can stay in the internet, strolling. Clicking any unnecessary tabs in my keyboard so that it counts as a high green bar in my work diary lol but I didn’t. In the end, we have a good relationship and I didnt abuse his credit card hehe.

oDesk buyer offered me a new project

First of, Hello to you :)

Today, my first oDesk buyer - The one I told you in my previous post that has suspended my assignment and reopened it again and suspended it then reopened it again LOL as redundant as that, well she suddenly emailed me today offering me another oDesk opportunity. I said Im interested. It's a research job and data entry type of job. I am still trying to weigh my options as I dont have good experience with researching especially if its about people's contact info. Sadly, the job that was given is like that. Anyway, we will see but for now lets thank God for another opportunity.

Note to self:
1. I need to update my Isotretinoin experience. I have been updating in the GT forum but I think I need to post more here so that there's a particular reference.

2. Remind me to post more stuffs about homebased job.

3. Remind me to post my latest beauty purchases.

Wow I have so many stuffs to do. But in the end, I dont finish a lot.

:( PS, Cecy is feeling sad today cause she misses one of her friends. :((

✎ oDesk: Building Relationships with your Buyers

Cecily,

I have a big project for you.

Are you availa
ble?
This is the exact email that I have received from my current buyer---just now. You don't know how excited I am while replying to it. For everybody's info, I have been looking for another oDesk job these past few days. As I have said previously, my current buyer gives work only at occasional times and at fixed range. Few days have passed since the last time I have worked for him, I heard no news yet. I thought he might end the assignment because I am aware that I don't deliver work in a fast manner (sorry, im a noob lol) But he did communicate again with me! I am so happy. It was really hard to find a job at oDesk these days.

Did you know that the one who invited me for an interview (Virtual Assistant position) is really cute lol. I havent talked with him yet but I have made my research. And yeah he is something but unfortunately he never called me at Skype. I have waited for two days to be called but he didn't. Maybe because we never got a chance to be online at the same time but I have caught him online several times and he quickly disappears after I sign in. Talking about weirdness. I was a bit optimistic about him since his secretary (or so called) said that I am fit for the position. But yeah, after two days of long wait, I want to moved on and so I did, I applied again inside oDesk as well as outside. I am still waiting for an answer to any of them until this current buyer of mine, contacted me again. YAY for the win. :)

I am freaking out. Yes, its exciting but really I literally spent sleepless nights finishing the project with this buyer. Im so afraid of the bulk especially now that he said its going to be a big project. I just recovered from a bad cold actually. :( OH EM GEE. LOL i literally did that in the picture. I slept in front of my PC while working. But I wont complain that much as I have been waiting for this for so long. Phew. Wish me a lot of success!

One important lesson? Don't burn bridges between you and your buyer. Build relationships with him/her and soon you will be the first one to be noticed if he needs a work to be done. I am not the best provider around but when I email him, I did it in a respectful manner. I apologize if I made a mistake and I tell him exactly my availability to finish a project. Of course there are bad buyers around, you will notice them when they demand a lot from you but they don't pay you enough! If you find yourself in this position, you can always make a report at oDesk and they quickly respond. I have tested their live help several times. :) Alright, till next update!

♥,
Cecily
